Thursday April 16th to 21st April

A short start, earlier in the year for visiting volunteers to stay this year. This is so we can tackle a few weeds that disappear later in the

year.  

 

Friday 17th April: Working with indigenous crew along New Entrance Rd

Saturday 18th April: Boyters Lane Bird Hide

Sunday 19th April: Smoky Beach, north from the beach access track

Monday 20th April: Tahlee Close, corner with Quarry Rd

Sunday  April 26th

Regular Sunday weeding 8.45 AM to 1.00PM    

 Back Beach. Meet at Back creek bridge for briefing.

Saturday May 23 to Sat 30th May

Visiting volunteer week, accommodation provided at Arakoon House (and possibly other nearby location).

 

Monday, May 25th: Tahlee Close site.
 
Tuesday, May 26th: We’ll join the Hat Head Dune Care group (usually a great morning tea).
 
Wednesday is a rest day for those who want it. But if you’re interested, we’ve arranged to meet with some of the NPWS staff to dig up some of the quadrats of Glory Lily we’ve been monitoring. Our monitoring over the past four years has been trying to figure out if herbicide treatments are working on the tubers and rhizomes.
 
Thursday, May 28th, The Borefields Track and/or the Boyters Lane Bird Hide site (again depending on site and weather conditions)
 
 Friday, May 29th, we’ll be following up with some weeding on the aboriginal-owned land that’s currently being worked by an indigenous team at New Entrance, right on the edge of the Macleay River.

Sunday  May 24th

 Smoky Cape Beach. Meet at campground car park beach access area.
